AFAC seeking volunteer vegetable-growers for spring, summer

The Arlington Food Assistance Center’s “Plot Against Hunger” initiative is again seeking local vegetable gardeners and farmers willing to grow and donate fresh produce to the AFAC food pantry.

The organization will provide free vegetable seeds to those who pledge to donate produce from community or personal gardens.

Seeds will be available at the AFAC office, 2708 South Nelson St., weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Produce that is grown can be delivered to the AFAC office or at one of a number of local farmers’ markets beginning in mid-June.

For information on the initiative, call Puwen Lee at (703) 845-8486 or see the Web site at www.afac.org/plot-against-hunger/.
