Woofie’s hosting pet photos with Santa charity event

Only pets will be allowed to have their photos taken with Santa this year.

Ashburn-based pet services franchise Woofie’s is joining Ellen Zangla Photography to host the 7th Annual Paws & Claus Charity event on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. to benefit the Loudoun Pet Pantry.

Pets will be photographed by Zangla alongside Santa Claus in a holiday-themed set. Attendees are being asked to donate $25 or more for each professional photo taken of their pet. All proceeds going directly to the Loudoun Pet Pantry.

The Paws & Claus event has raised over $15,000 in the past seven years. This year, due to the COVID pandemic, Woofie’s is putting in place social distancing measures to keep attendees and Woofie’s team members safe. Participants are asked to sign up for a time slot and limit the number of people accompanying their pet to one to two family members. Woofie’s will also be placing markers 6 feet apart to adhere to social distancing measures. Doors will be kept open in their garage space to allow for air circulation in the waiting area outside the photography room. In addition, all attendees are required to wear masks, and only pets may have their photos taken with Santa.

“We are thrilled to be able to put together another wonderful charity event, this time benefiting Loudoun County’s pets in need,” said Woofie’s co-owner and co-founder, Leslie Barron. “Paws & Claus will look a little different this year but the sentiment is the same – to have fun and give back to the community.”

Paws & Claus will take place at Woofie’s Ashburn office, 44200 Waxpool Road, Suite 137. Interested pet owners can register at this link. Donations to the Loudoun Pet Pantry can be made here.
