“This photograph was taken in Middleburg, Virginia. It was a beautiful, clear day with an endless blue sky – one of those peaceful moments that naturally invites you to slow down and notice the little things around you. As I walked around after lunch, I noticed five birds quietly perched on a single utility wire. Their spacing immediately caught my attention – it almost looked as if they had intentionally lined themselves up, each patiently waiting for something. Just as I framed the shot, a jet passed high in the distance, leaving a faint contrail across the sky. I imagine the birds had been sitting there all morning waiting for ‘the big silver bird’ that visits every afternoon.”
“Here it comes!”
“Do you think they’ll wave this time?”
“Nah… they’re always in a hurry.”
“One day they’ll figure out how to land on a wire.”
“Until then… poor creatures.”
