“It was exactly a month after we moved to Ashburn from the West Coast, and places were just starting to cautiously open up after the first round of COVID lockdowns. We were so excited to be exploring our new surroundings, and the Udvar-Hazy Center was at the top of our list. My son, Owen, had just turned 4 in this photo, and he was obsessed with all things space and astronaut related. This was his first time seeing a space shuttle in real life and he was absolutely thrilled. He was only disappointed he couldn’t get on board for a ride.”
