“My goal was to capture the Milky Way rising over the Atlantic Ocean with the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in the foreground. This is only possible in early May before the vacationers start coming down and all the house lights start washing out the dark skies. Anything after July wouldn’t be great looking since the Milky Way will be in the Southern Sky. This image is a single image from 300 images I used to create a time-lapse video. It took about two hours to capture all 300 images.” – Mike Zorger
