Some folks may balk at the thought of getting a meal at a gas station, picturing grubby service stations of the past. But in recent years, lots of gas stations and convenience store brands have upped their game – offering a wide selection of freshly prepared food at onsite restaurants. Here’s a few items found in or near Ashburn that just might surprise the naysayers.
Sheetz
19910 Riverside Commons Plaza

There are lots of burgers floating around, but there is only one called The Big Mozz (pictured at top) and you can only find it at Sheetz. It’s a beef patty topped with provolone, mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce. With one Sheetz in Ashburn off Riverside Parkway and a second coming to Belmont Ridge Road in 2026, locals will soon be able to get their cheese on.

Dash In
24755 Gum Spring Road, Chantilly

This gas station chain only has one location in Loudoun so far, down in the South Riding area. However, an Ashburn location is reportedly in the works. Visitors will find a full-fledged fast casual restaurant inside with burgers, wings and more. We had a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich that knocked our socks off.

Gastro High Octane Eats
20435 Broad Overlook Drive
Located inside the A-Plus convenience store at Loudoun County Parkway and Russell Branch Parkway, Gastro serves up some eclectic dishes, including a Sweet Jala-Mango Pork sandwich. But man cannot live by sandwiches alone, and Gastro offers up some great salads as well, including a house salad, a “breadless” BLT salad and a spinach and goat cheese salad.

Royal Farm
43101 Van Metre Drive

This Baltimore convenience store chain only has one location so far in Ashburn, near the Broadlands. But if you’re ever looking for chicken at any hour of the day or night, this 24/7 spot has you covered. With bone-in, tenders, wings, sandwiches, biscuits and more – they have fried bird in every incarnation.

The Filling Co.
20050 Ashbrook Commons Plaza
42315 Soave Drive
42175 Shapiro Drive

The Filling Co. has three locations in Ashburn, all operated by the team of brothers from Rubino’s Pizzeria. So they know their way around a kitchen. In addition to a long menu of sandwiches, pizzas, snacks and more, we are highlighting one of The Filling Co.’s desserts – the decadent fried Oreo cookies, something you don’t find on menus everywhere.
